Regulations

I. The Mozart International Music Competition (MIMC) is open to classical musicians of all ages from all over the world.

II. There are no travel or accommodation costs: the competition is based on the online video submission.

III. The competition consists of two rounds: The Preliminary Round and the Final Round.

IV. Participation in Preliminary Round is free of charge.

V. Those Participants who advance to the Final Round will be required to pay an administrative fee of 89 euros. The fee is non-refundable.

VII. One person can participate in more than one different categories.

If the same person enters twice in the same category, we will consider the most recent entry to be valid.

VIII. AGE GROUPS:

A: 7 years old and younger

B: 8-9 y.o.

C: 10-11 y.o.

D: 12-13 y.o.

E: 14-15 y.o.

F: 16-17 y.o.

G: 18-20 y.o.

H: 21-25 y.o.

I: 26 y.o. and above

Participant’s age by the current deadline date.
Age groups apply ONLY for solists

IX. VIDEO REQUIREMENTS

  1. Entrants will be asked to submit a video recording of their performance (YouTube or similar platform link) via our online form on the ‘Apply’ page.
  2. The video must clearly show the musician(s) performing* the repertoire they wish to present at the competition.

*The exception is the ‘Composition’ category: a video performance is welcome, but you can also submit audio only.

  1. There is no minimum length requirement for the video. The maximum length of the entire application presentation should not exceed 30 minutes, with the jury having the right to listen to only the first 15 minutes if they consider this sufficient.
  2. The contestant has a free choice of repertoire for each category.
  3. The same recording as in the Preliminary Round will be used for the Final Round. However, finalists may present an alternative recording if they wish so.
  4. A single movement or a selection of movements from a cyclical form such as a sonata, suite, etc. may be submitted.
  5. The video recordings cannot be edited, but an introduction stating the name of the musician, the title of the piece and the composer would be appreciated.
  6. Composers may enter by submitting recordings played by someone else. They may also submit audio recordings played by computer software.
  7. Entries may be solo, accompanied or a mixture of accompanied and unaccompanied pieces.
  8. The video description should include the name of the musician, the composer and the title of the piece.
  9. The settings for the YouTube video(s) should be as follows:
  • YouTube videos should be set either to ‘Public’ or ‘Unlisted’. The same applies to other sites such as Vimeo, BiliBili, etc.
  • Please do NOT select ‘Private’. If your video is private, the judges will not be able to view your entry.
  1. Please ensure that the recording is of good quality to give a fair representation of the entrant’s performance.

X. AWARDS:

94-90: Platinum Award
89-85: Gold Award
84-80: Silver Award
79-75: Bronze Award

2. Criteria to be taken into account by the jury in its evaluation:

3.1. All winners can also request diplomas for their teachers.

3.2. All winners may be promoted on our Social Media

XI. Competitors will be judged by a panel of world-class musicians (pedagogues, experts, performers). For the purpose of maintaining impartiality, the names of the members of the Jury will not be made public.

XII. A juror will not judge a contestant who turns out to be their student.

XIII. The minimum number of jurors to evaluate a category is 3.

XIV. Verdicts of the Jury are final and irrevocable.

XV. Disclaimer:

The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the regulations if necessary. All changes will be communicated promptly to registered participants.

By participating in the Mozart International Music Competition, participants agree to the potential publication and use of their submitted videos and photos for promotional purposes, including on websites, social media platforms, advertising materials, and other marketing content of the organizer. Participants acknowledge that their photos and videos may be edited, cropped, altered in terms of color and resolution, and used in various promotional materials related to the competition, the organizer, or its partners. The organizers reserve the right to use these materials without the need for additional consent from the participants or any compensation, and without specifying particular usage terms, including their distribution on the Internet. Participants confirm that they hold the copyright to the submitted materials and that they do not infringe on the rights of third parties, including the image rights of any individuals featured in the photos or videos.
